As Director of Product Management, you will lead a portfolio of products across Lonely Planet’s website and mobile offerings. Additionally, you will guide a team of Product Managers and the entire lifecycle of digital programs. You will be responsible for deeply understanding user workflows and business needs to shape impactful product insights and technical requirements that drive our product roadmap and product adoption forward.


The day-to-day

  • Set new product or consumer strategy for all programs and product group working on web and mobile offerings.
  • Build and manage an actionable product roadmap that inspires the business as a whole.
  • Champion and inspire your team to constantly improve what and how we ship to our customers.
  • Communicate, coordinate, and work closely with other leadership to deliver products that grow the business in exciting new directions.
  • Manage lifecycle of new product innovations and their relationship to the roadmap and long-term goals.
  • Lead your team to drive product strategy from interactions with customers, business stakeholders, data analysis, and other teams.
  • Expertly balancing innovation opportunities and tactical prowess.
  • Defining and managing product cadence and rollout to users across product group.


  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Business, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 12 years of prior experience within Product Management of consumer apps, technology and services – shipping products to millions of users.
  • Passionate about delivering beautifully designed products while developing teams and individuals.
  • Ability to work in an agile and iterative startup environment.
  • Product experience with large-scale consumer or enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated product leader, accustomed to driving results in collaborative, cross-functional environments with little instruction or oversight.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal), and comfortable in front of executives and customers.
