The Project Manager is a highly collaborative role within the Client Solutions team and works to support the creative, sales, account management, product dev and ad ops teams to achieve global targets and objectives. The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in helping generate revenue for the business through the facilitation of editorial and marketing content for our digital, print and custom solutions. Along with the rest of the Client Solutions team, the Project Manager should be commercially-minded with a willingness to push boundaries in order to drive revenue for the business.


The Project Manager sits within Lonely Planet’s Client Solutions department and is responsible for the production and delivery of commercial campaigns across a variety of channels including digital, social, print, video and mobile, ensuring projects are delivered to brief, on time, and within budget.


This role works closely with Client Solutions’ Account Management, Marketing, Creative, and Product Management teams in order to obtain project briefs, determine scope and requirements, create schedules and cost estimates, traffic project activities, and sign-off on production deliverables. The Project Manager manages internal and external resources, controls project budgets and timelines and contributes to post-campaign analysis. You will drive the project from brief through to delivery.



  • Contribute to campaign pitches and RFI/RFP responses by providing estimates on internal resources time, external costs and delivery schedules, often within tight timeframes.
  • Advise on project scope, production specifications and feasibility.
  • Create and manage schedules for internal and external resources and ensure adherence to timelines.
  • Track project progress, communicate project status to the team and stakeholders and ensure deadlines, budgets and quality levels are met.
  • Effectively identify and manage feasibility and risks to delivery, escalating issues and resolving impediments as required.
  • Liaise regularly with internal team and external vendors across multiple time zones to ensure efficient delivery of cross-functional projects.
  • Work closely with Content and Design to ensure commercial products adhere to Lonely Planet’s editorial and brand principles while pushing boundaries for clients.
  • Collaborate with Account Management and Product Management to gather and compile and deliver data on product/campaign performance.
  • Keep up to date with trends in relevant technologies.
  • Lead concepting sessions with creative studio when custom elements are required.
  • Track and analyze project financials and share data with extended CS team.
  • Liaise with other Lonely Planet departments regarding resource availability and allocation.
  • Conduct internal project meetings, stand-ups and project status meetings.
  • Contribute to pool of freelance resources, ensuring all relevant details are recorded and updated regularly, and sufficient resources are available.
  • All other duties as assigned.



  • Experience delivering multi-platform marketing campaigns in an agency or B2B/B2C environment.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively working with cross-discipline and cross-functional project teams, with a high degree of initiative and ability to build productive relationships.
  • 2+ years Demonstrated application of project management skills (Asana/project management workflow tools experience is a plus) and knowledge with excellent planning, organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with detailed financial reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of product development processes.
  • Consultative and collaborative approach.
  • Experience in driving and delivering cross-media products.
  • Must be comfortable and capable managing multiple projects in a daily-changing, fast-paced environment.
